Daily Devotion - Fall Daily Devotion - Day 1
"Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples." – John 13:35
Today, we are beginning our daily devotion emails for all Fall Growth Group Members. These will be sent each day at 6am throughout the fall and focus on "The Relationship Principles of Jesus."
I'm so glad you are part of a Growth Group this fall! It's going to be a great experience of spiritual growth.
My prayer for you this fall is that your relationship with God and others will grow to a whole new level!
There are FIVE COMMITMENTS that I believe will make this possible:
1)Keep up with the daily readings in "The Relationship Principles of Jesus." The best way to do this is in your daily devotion or quiet time.
2)Read the daily devotion email written by one of our Fall Growth Group Leaders sent each day at 6am. Take their personal challenges to heart and put them into practice.
3)Attend each Sunday of "The Relationship Principles of Jesus" teaching series over the next 8 weeks. I will further explore these principles each Sunday and I believe you will walk away challenged to make relationships the first priority in your life.
4)Fully participate in your Fall Growth Group each week. Listening to how your fellow Group Members are implementing these principles with their relationships will be a great encouragement for you to do the same. And, you will build some new friendships along the way!
5)Continue to invite your friends, co-workers, and neighbors to attend on a Sunday with you during this series. Relationships matter to everyone and I believe this series can have a profound impact in the lives of your friends who are not yet followers of Jesus.
I believe that if you will take these five commitments to heart and put them into practice this fall, your life will result in the kind of love Jesus refers to in our verse for today.
He says that this type of love will prove to the world that we are his disciples...
So the proof to your friends, co-workers, and neighbors that you are a follower of Jesus will be in the evidence of your love for them and others.
So how are you doing? How can you show a Jesus-like love to those around you today? Pray right now and ask God to help you do it.
Make it your goal this fall to not just study, but actually begin to practice "The Relationship Principles of Jesus."
I believe that if each of us makes that commitment we could impact the people of New York City in a great way for Jesus this fall!
