Adam Bishop - Pastor of Growth Groups

My name is Adam and I have the great privilege of overseeing all of the growth groups at The Journey. We have amazing leaders who do a great job leading the groups each semester. I enjoy serving them to help with whatever they need. I love seeing someone who attends The Journey connect into a group where he or she can make friends and grow closer to God.

BASIC STUFF:

My wife, Morgan and I were married on January 3, 2003.  She is my best friend and definitely my better half!  We do not have any kids yet but we do have two Welsh Corgis, Oscar and Riley.  They are a lot of fun!  I have been a Student/College Pastor for the last seven years.  We moved here from the North Atlanta area because we believe God has called us to serve at The Journey.

I believe God placed a desire in my heart for the city years ago when I came here in High School for Model UN debate.  Morgan participated in the same program when she was in High School as well.  He continued to grow that desire in both of us with each visit to the city and as more time passed.  I am so thankful for a church like The Journey that exists to serve the people of the city and completely humbled that God would bring us here to serve.  We feel incredibly blessed!

  • Odd Facts: When I was three I was hopping around on one leg putting on my pajamas when I slipped and fell and broke my femur bone which is supposedly the strongest bone in the body. I had to be in a body cast for twelve weeks and learn how to walk again.
  • Life Scripture: You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ dies for us. Romans 5:6-8
