About Us
On Easter Sunday of 2002 a handful of people gathered in two Manhattan locations as The Journey began weekly services for the first time. From the very beginning, The Journey was one church that met in two locations - on the Upper West Side on Sunday mornings and in the East Village on Sunday evenings.
From there, The Journey has steadily grown in numbers and ministries (just check out the number of people we have in Growth Groups and serving in our community). Over the years we have met in comedy clubs, church basements, off-Broadway theaters, public schools, hotel ballrooms and even in larger concert venues (like The Manhattan Center’s Grand Ballroom).
Today The Journey has 4 locations in the Metro New York area…and we are praying about adding more in the future!
Currently, The Journey-Upper West meets at Brandeis HS for 3 services every Sunday (10:00am; 11:30am and 1:00pm).
The Journey-Village meets at PS 41 for the 6:30pm Sunday night service.
The Journey-Brooklyn kicked off on Easter 2008 and meets at PS 261 at 11:00am every Sunday.
The Journey-Queens began monthly services on Easter 2009 and launches weekly services on September 13, 2009. Journey-Queens meets at PS 206 at 11:00am every Sunday.
The Journey has always been a diverse group of people united by our desire to give the people of the Metro New York area the best opportunity to become fully developing followers of Jesus.
Today over 1,100 people attend one of our five metro-NYC locations each Sunday and over 1,250 people get plugged into a Journey Growth Group each semester.
